This image is cut from 1/4 inch board. It was a study piece for me as I developed the Sufi Dancers piece.
The sweep of the skirts and the placement of the hands and arms try to capture the dancers as they whirl in praise, community, and joy. Simple yet elegant.
As with all my work, I used my scroll saw in the construction of the art, no computer guided tools.
This cutting is based on my own design. I saw Sufi dancers in worship and was inspired to try to capture them in my woodworking.
