The version seen here has been sold. I would consider recreating this piece but the price would be driven by the live edge slabs I have in inventory. Contact me via the above button and we can talk. PAB May 23, 2023.

While I was preparing this board I wondered which side would look better when I finished cutting the image. It turns out, I cannot decide which is better so I cut a base from hickory and presented it free standing. When I cut the windmill, I generally start with the blades on top. I drilled the 18 pilot holes and flipped the board and too my amazement, I found a knot almost exactly in the center of the fan: some micro edits in pencil to the pattern in the shed and bingo! the knot doubles as the fan center nut.
Enough about my adventures in the shed: Enjoy the beauty of this cedar board supported by the sculpted hickory.

This cutting is an image of a PAB original. The blades are modeled from an image I took of the windmill at South LLano state park.

This image is cut from 1/4 inch board backed with black paper.
