I enjoy cutting the Hunter’s Moon and will do so again. As a matter of fact, I customer came by my workshop the other day and we found a piece of cedar which will allow me to present the owl in a wonderful setting (once my Autumn art show rush subsides.) This image is cut from a rough pine slab, backed by painted board.
Although the wings dominate this image, I really worked on the body and talons to try show the owl about to strike, hence the name of the piece.
The rough pine accents the natural feel of this piece. Because there is no glass, the cut work is exposed. If your preference is a more formal look, consider the “Hunters Moon” in this collection which is framed and under glass.
As with all my work, I used my scroll saw in the construction of the art, no computer guided tools.
This cutting is based on my own design.
Estimated price in as of January 2023 is $150 – $200 depending on the wood selected, estimated delivery is six weeks.
