16 x 16

I saw this image on a Facebook scroll saw page and found what I had been looking for over 50 years. As a teen I had heard the Grateful Dead song “Sugar Magnolia” and I always wonder what a woman who “can wade in a drop of dew” looks like. Now I know.

Actually, the image I saw on Facebook was much more elaborate. He had 800+ cuts to my 220 cuts. But the truth of the matter is after 150 cuts, I really need to push through. Averaging 2.5 minutes per cut, 220 is plenty.

I was invited to show some of my works at a local gallery. The gallery owner asked if the butterflies could have colored paper as the backer so I added some variations to the piece. Although the variations are visually stimulation, I may prefer the full black backing paper where I complete the butterflies in my mind.

This cutting is an image from M Fromant. I have full permission to duplicate it.

This image is cut from 1/4 inch board backed with black paper. Please note: one of the variations is in a 1 inch frame and is cut from 1/32 plywood.

This piece can be viewed and purchased at the Hawaii Fluid Art Studio, Flower Mound, Texas.
