This image is inspired by van Gogh’s Irises series. I love the bold, crisp elements of his irises. I think that they lend themselves to expression in scroll saw art. Bold strokes aside, I think my favorite part of my image is the water line, visible through the clear glass vase. Although I think of tulips as yellow, I think red tulips are in my future, I already have the red paper picked out.

My mother was a great believer in exposing youngsters to art and museum posters was a great way to do it. Mom actually had this poster framed. The poster now hangs in my guest bedroom.

This cutting is an image of a PAB original, with a serious nod to Vincent van Gogh.
