Cold Grips North Texas

Dear All,
Funny thing about weather is it is so regional. Cold to a Texan is nothing to the New English. North Texas is in the teens during the day and looking at single digits next week. That is cold to me. I dug out my heated pad for standing on in the shed and thought of my brother.
When I lived in New Hampshire, I used to cut in an uninsulated porch built over a stone patio. It was January and I had spent a long session working on a gift. I finally came in and pulled off my boots, hat, gloves, and winter layers. I was cold and my feet were numb. As I warmed up the pain in my feet increased. When I thought I had never felt that much pain in my feet, I called my brother.
My brother is a long time resident of the Lake Placid region of NY and was an EMT. He asked about the color and sensitivity of my feet and then said I was lucky. He suggested I had a touch of ‘Jack Nip’: Jack Frost’s warning notice of frost bite. He admonished me about the length of time I spent on the stone floor and suggested I buy a heated work pad.
So, this weekend, I have been using a heater and standing on my heated pad working stacking puzzles (The puzzles turned out Great! I will share that next week.) And what about my feet? They warmed right up when I came in.
Thanks, Bro.

Love to All,
Paul
